Accompanist / Collaborative Pianist
We are currently looking for a piano accompanist to support our weekly rehearsals as well as biannual concerts and concert dress rehearsals. We are looking for someone with accompanist experience who can follow the choir director and who can commit to the weekly rehearsal times. Sight reading ability is preferred. If you have energy and enthusiasm for music and want to share your gifts with the next generation, this role may be for you!
The accompanist or collaborative pianist will:
- Learn music as provided by the artistic director
- Provide accompanist support for our junior (ages 8 to 11) and youth (ages 12 to 18) choirs during rehearsals, concerts, workshops (schedule provided in advance)
- When on a tour or a trip, provide support as a chaperone for the choristers during the musical event
- Work directly with the artistic director to support the musical programming
This position will report to the Chairperson on the Board of Directors, but be closely linked for day-to-day tasks with the Artistic Director.
Renumeration:
This position is being hired as an independent consultant position. You will not be an employee of the PCC, but will be self-employed with a contract for the duration of the programming year (September-May) with the opportunity for renewal year after year.
Payment will be hourly per rehearsal or concert and based on a scale depending on skill and experience. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 6-8:30pm for 14 weeks Sept-Dec, and 19 weeks January-May. There will be concerts and dress rehearsals in addition, schedule is pending at this time, but will be provided in advance.
